Character Pictures
Every character can carry a picture: a portrait, a token, a sketch, whatever you like. It appears in the left margin of the character’s sheet, above the list of sections, and stays in view as you scroll.
Adding a Picture
Open the sheet of a character you own and look at the top of the left margin, above Sections. Click Add picture to unfold a file chooser and an Upload picture button. Pick a file, click the button, and the picture appears immediately.
Once a character has a picture, the fold reads Change picture and the button inside it reads Replace picture. Uploading a new file swaps it for the old one; there is no need to remove the old picture first.
Removing a Picture
Unfold Change picture and click Remove picture. Zingor asks you to confirm, then deletes both the picture and the stored file. The character keeps everything else about it; only the picture goes.
Size and Format Limits
A picture must be:
1 MB or smaller. Photos taken on a phone are routinely several times this, so you may need to shrink or re-export the file first.
2048×2048 pixels or smaller, on each side.
A real image file. Zingor opens each upload to check it really is an image, so renaming a file to end in
.pngwill not get it past the check.
The limits are printed next to the upload button so you don’t have to remember them. If an upload fails, the fold stays open and explains why, and the character’s existing picture (if any) is left alone.
Who Can See and Change a Picture
You can only add, replace, or remove a picture on a character you own. Other players’ sheets show their pictures, but not the controls.
Pictures are visible to signed-in players only. Like the rest of Zingor, a picture is served only to someone who has logged in, so a link to one is not usable by the public.
Note
For now, a character’s picture appears on its own sheet. It is not yet shown in the party list, the whole-party inventory, or your profile page’s list of characters.
