Personal Layout Customization

The character sheet arrives in a sensible default arrangement, but that arrangement is not the same one every player wants. Zingor lets you drag parts of the sheet into whatever order suits the way you play. Your arrangement is yours alone: it follows you from sheet to sheet, and nobody else’s view changes because of it.

What You Can Reorder

Three parts of the character sheet are reorderable:

  • The sections of the sheet. Identity, Ability Scores, Hit Points, Inventory, Conditions, Spells, Notes, and Sage Knowledge.

  • The ability rows. The six ability scores within the Ability Scores section, which default to Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma.

  • The notes blocks. Background, Appearance, and Notes within the Notes section, in that default order.

Everything else on the sheet – the columns of the inventory table, the spell lists, and so on – keeps its fixed arrangement.

How to Reorder

Reordering is off until you ask for it, so that an ordinary click or drag on the sheet never rearranges anything by accident.

  1. Click the Reorder button for the thing you want to move. For the sheet’s sections, that is the Reorder sections button in the toolbar at the top of the page, beside “Export to Wiki”. For ability rows and notes blocks, it is the Reorder button on that section’s own heading.

  2. The button changes to Done, and the items become draggable. Drag an item up or down and drop it where you want it. Sections are dragged by their headings; ability rows and notes blocks can be dragged anywhere on the row or block.

  3. Click Done when you have finished.

Each drop is saved on its own, right away. There is no separate save step, so clicking Done is only a way of switching dragging back off: leaving the page without clicking it loses nothing.

You can keep editing your character while reordering is switched on: dragging and editing don’t interfere with each other.

The table of contents beside the sheet follows the section order, so it re-sorts itself as you drag sections around.

Your Arrangement Is Yours

Custom character sheet ordering is saved per user, not per character, which means:

  • It persists. Your arrangement is stored with your account, so it survives closing the tab, signing out, and switching to another device.

  • It applies to every sheet you look at, including other players’ characters. If you like Spells at the top, Spells is at the top everywhere you look.

  • It is invisible to everyone else. Other players see their own arrangement of the same character, and the owner of a character cannot set an arrangement on your behalf.

Anyone who has never reordered anything sees the default order given above. You never have to customize the sheet, and there is nothing to undo if you would rather not.

Note

If a new section or row is added to Zingor after you have saved an arrangement, it appears in its default position rather than disappearing or resetting your choices. Your existing order is kept intact around it.
